This year too, LOBO managed to once again score with creativity, know-how and attention to detail in phenomenal laser shows and applications. Of eight submitted works in total, three of them received an award, proving the success rate of the Show Designer as well as the Creative Director.

In the category "Beams/Atmospherics Show for a Single X-Y Scanner Pair" – which is of utmost importance for laser shows – LOBO raked in the first place for the show "Future City" by Show Designer Philipp Wendt. An almost maddening level of precision more or less became the trademark trait of Wendt's shows: There was not a single sequence in the music track that had not been turned into laser light. Combined with the perfect timing, one would get the impression that the lasers are not set to interpret the music, but that they "perform" the music on their own.

With another award in the category "Innovative Application", LOBO's laser installation for the Bosch trade booth at the IAA in Frankfurt demonstrated that laser light is capable of more than just beam shows and projections. At first glance, the observer at the IAA booth of Bosch Mobility Solutions merely sees three large-scale prints in the background. Suddenly, however, gleaming and elegant glimmers of light flit across the image, as if they were just a regular part of the picture. For this project, LOBO developed a new aesthetic approach to the use of lasers: not loud and bright in a dark environment, but instead subtle and stylishly subdued, three LOBO laser projectors of the type bliss-XS breathe life into the large-formatted prints backing the illuminated booth. This allows it to pleasantly set itself apart from the monotony of the LED screens overloading the rest of the trade fair.

Last but not least, the category "Laser Photography" had an award for a spectacular photo from the show "Alpha Sphere". Here, the photographer was Creative Director Udo Gauss, who managed to capture this breath-taking image with one shot. Interesting things happen if a time exposure of a moving laser projection is taken with minimal aperture: instead of the original appearance, the structure of the laser gains an almost natural flair resembling fine hair reflecting sunlight – which gives this photo the look of a magical sphere.
