"New Workstation from Lobo"

With the second generation of the Lacon-5 Workstation, the show laser manufacturer LOBO from Aalen introduces the result of an almost seven-year-long development process to the market. Lacon-5 is a wholly new development, but still able to play and process all shows created on the first Lacon-5 generation without any losses.
The massive aluminum front features an operating panel with integrated graphic LCD panel and soft keys, designed for stand-alone operation of the system with menu-based user guidance. The standard equipment includes a keyboard with mouse as well as a TFT flat screen. In addition to a hard drive, the housing also includes a magneto-optical drive for easy exchange of data. Data output to up to twelve independent laser projectors is realized optically via Digital Data Link (DDL) from a single device.
In comparison to the first Lacon-5 generation, which was awarded with the TiLE Award, the freely scalable animation subsystem with DDL output offers ten times more computing power. This provides users with features such as masking with real clipping of invisible image portions in full output resolution, Hidden Line, Fading Lines for natural line guidance, Bitmap Overlays and much more.
In contrast to pure PC-based solutions, these subsystems are fully decupled from the operating system. Unpredictable drops in performance or output errors due to interrupts (especially with Windows) or a break in the graphics output in the event of a fault are thus avoided.
With expansion modules, the system can be adapted to any application and the system’s functionality can always grow alongside the demands. With expansion modules, Lacon-5 can not only control laser projectors, but also comfortably and synchronously integrate light, surround sound, slides, video players, video projectors, fog generators, various screens and basically any type of peripheral devices from a user interface into the multimedia spectacle.
