"German Winners at the ILDA Awards"

For the first time in the 34-year history of the prestigious ILDA Awards of the laser show industry there was no conventional, but rather a purely virtual award ceremony. The first ILDA Cloud Conference demanded a lot from the protagonists. A total of 57 streaming hours across three days ended in the decision who would be the winners in the various categories in 2020. 197 submissions from more than 160 members, which had been sent in in spring before the pandemic, had to be checked thoroughly. Among the German winners was once again LOBO with four awards; a second place was achieved by HB-Laserkomponenten in the category “Permanent Installation” for the illumination of a 182 m high statue in India. LOBO’s highlight was first place in the category “Permanent Installation” for the ambitious project “experimenta”; Germany’s largest Science Center, where LOBO contributed elaborate laser and multimedia technology for the Science Dome. Specifically for this exceptional installation, LOBO not only developed a 360° FullDome laser projection, but also a unique safety concept based on LIDAR technology. The intense laser show “The Scratch” won came second in the category “Beams/Atmospherics Show with External Effects”. In the category “Laser Show with Add-On Effects/Multimedia”, the laser and multimedia show “Titanium” won third place for its wondrous journey with fire and water effects. Finally, LOBO also won second place in the category “Laser Photography” for “Oceanic Galaxy”, a fantastical arrangement of laser fans. Other award winners who have made a name in German nightlife include Pangolin Laser Systems and Kvant with several first and top positions. More under www.ilda.com
