Triple Success for LOBO at ILDA Awards 2025

LOBO wins three awards in the US and inches even closer to the magical threshold of 200 trophies.

LOBO yet again demonstrated the full range of its expertise at the ILDA Awards 2025, coming out on top among almost 200 submissions. In a festive setting, the artistic achievements of spectacular laser and multimedia shows were honored during the annual conference of the International Laser Display Association (ILDA), held from 3 to 5 November in Huntsville, Alabama. 

This year, the company was once more able to convince the distinguished jury, raking in a total of three awards. With this, LOBO raises the total number of its received awards to a staggering 190 trophies, further cementing its basically uncatchable lead atop the all-time ranking in front of all other competitors worldwide. 

Among experts and specialists, the ILDA Awards are considered to be the "Oscars of the Laser Show Industry", making them the only truly objective benchmark in show design, as the prizes are awarded by competitors to competitors. This year, the coveted trophies were once again presented in a multitude of categories for outstanding technical and creative achievements. In addition, a leading figure of the industry was also bestowed with the annual Lifetime Achievement Award. 

Founded in 1986, the umbrella organization ILDA is the industry’s most important global association with more than 250 corporate and individual members. 

In the category “Planetarium Show”, LOBO convinced with the contribution “Queen of the Night”, which was produced for the Planetarium Hamburg. The jury was particularly amazed by the unusual combination of laser beams and an aria from Mozart’s masterpiece “The Magic Flute”. As an opera lack the bass rhythm typical for conventional laser shows, the experienced show designer instead decided to synchronize the laser beams to the rising and falling voice of the opera singer - a sophisticated stroke of genius, awarded with first prize by the jury. “Queen of the Night” is shown as part of the production COSMIC OPERA in the Planetarium Hamburg, which presents many renowned opera pieces under the planetarium’s dome.

Another first prize trophy was awarded in the category “Live TV Show” to a show produced on occasion of the prestigious Innovation Award Baden Wurttemberg. With this, the show even placed ahead of two submissions from competitors that were shown during the Eurovision Song Contest. Serving as the grand finale of the event, the fascinating laser performance put the spectators in the König-Karl-Halle in Stuttgart as well as the TV audience at home under its spell. The show additionally marked a premier: In tune with the presentation of the coveted award, it was the first time LOBOs new, extremely miniaturized satellite laser projectors could be seen in action. 

The third award was won by the snapshot “NetWorld” in the category „Laser Photography“. This impressive photograph is a critical examination of our increasingly interconnected world and leaves observers pondering.
