This year, the company reached the total number of 175 awards received so far
AALEN (an) - Even though the COVID-19 pandemic prevented an awards ceremony in 2020 in the "traditional" sense of the 34-year history of the International Laser Display Association, ILDA nevertheless made the decision to make a virtue out of necessity and relocate their annual conference into the virtual space: the first ILDA Cloud Conference, which was held completely over live broadcast, spanned over 57 hours of streaming, spread out over three days. Like every year, the highlight of this conference was the prestigious ILDA Awards presentation, also known as the "Oscars of the laser industry". The company Lobo from Aalen received a total of four awards.
This first virtual conference honored impressive laser shows, laser installations and laser art from over 160 members, selected from entries which had been submitted in spring of 2020 – before the onset of the pandemic. It is almost a matter of fact that between 197 entries, LOBO managed to once more receive multiple awards – a whole four Artistic Awards in multiple categories went to Aalen in 2020's ceremony. Thus, LOBO once again not only gained a substantial amount of awards, they also reached the milestone of 175 ILDA awards in total – which puts them miles ahead of their competition in the industry!
The prize that could definitely be considered the highlight of the "Permanent Installation" category was the first place for the ambitious project "experimenta", Germany's biggest science center in Heilbronn, whose Science Dome was enhanced by LOBO's sophisticated laser- and multimedia technology. Specifically for this extraordinary installation, LOBO not only developed a 360-degree Full-Dome laser projection, but also created a unique laser-based safety feature.
But it was not the only category where LOBO received awards: in the category "Beams/Atmospherics Show with Outboard Effects", the intensive laser show "The Scratch" placed second. The laser and multimedia show "Titanium" in the category "Laser Show with Added Effects/Multimedia" was awarded third place for its wondrous journey with fire and water effects. Lastly, LOBO also secured a second place in “Laser Photography” for the imaginative arrangement of a laser fan in an "Oceanic Galaxy".
