Be it at the Olympic Asian Games in Qatar, in the Jurassic Park in Shanghai or aboard Queen Mary 2 – all over the world, lasers from southern Germany fascinate the audiences. These lasers are manufactured by Lobo in Aalen. For its productions, the laser specialist takes home the lion’s share of national and international awards year after year. The shows are characterized by technology, creativity and choreography. For more than 25 years now, CEO Lothar Bopp has managed to stay a decisive step ahead of the competition – sometimes even two steps.
Locally, Lobo also demonstrates impressively what is possible with state-of-the-art laser technology and multimedia – be it in the Holiday Park in Hassloch or in the Europa-Park in Rust. Recently, Lobo created one of Europe’s most sensational permanently installed multimedia shows in a former dolphinarium in the Holiday Park: Amaceon.
It tells the story of earth with an opulent production. A spectacle of light and color is complemented by film sequences and graphic elements to form an enchanting end result. Spectators witness the Big Bang, the creation of life and the origins of mankind. One moment, Mother Earth sends lightning and fire, in the next she playfully interacts with humans. Here, Lobo has created a fascinating experience for the whole family. The efforts backstage are enormous. Here, the true strengths of the Aalen-based company come to light. Several high-performance laser systems and video projectors project hologram-like sequences onto a Water Screen. This is a projection surface composed of several thousand extremely fine water droplets and only one of many groundbreaking developments of Lobo. The experience also boasts water fountains and underwater fire effects as well as eight-channel surround sound. Fog machines, wind generators and water sprinklers perfect the dream machinery.
Show and technology form one unit, completely developed and produced by the company in Aalen. “The entire show and technology are controlled by a special central computer developed by Lobo,” Lothar Bopp says. “This way, we can quickly make changes to the program at any time. This is one of the things that set us apart from the competition.” Good relations with the Europa-Park in Rust also have a long tradition. Only recently, Lobo expanded the revolving theater of the park with a breathtaking show on the wonders of the world.
