ILDA Awards 1999 in Orlando
Mickey Mouse, hamburgers and awards: With 32 ILDA awards in only 5 years, LOBO establishes itself as a constant at the top of the show laser industry.

On the ocassion of its annual meeting, the "International Laser Display Asscociation" (ILDA), the umbrella association of all companies active in the show laser industry, decided to head to Orlando – the undisputed center of the entertainment industry. In addition to large amusement parks and studios, the LDI (Lighting Dimensions International), America’s most important exhibition for professional lighting technology, attracted innumerous visitors.
It was certainly no coincidence that ILDA was interested in a cooperation with the LDI as part of a “cross-promotion” event. With this, visitors of the two events had access to both meetings. Furthermore, there was a special event of ILDA at the LDI, where the newest possibilities and developments of show laser technology were demonstrated. Here, LOBO also presented its new product line MODULA-5. With its excellent price-performance ratio and its modular, future-proof system architecture, it attracted attention both at the LDI as well as at the “Advanced Technology Workshop” of the ILDA meeting.
Once again, LOBO received more awards than any other company during the formal Awards Ceremony in Disney World. Among LOBO’s six award winners: The installation “e-Motional” in the Europapark in Rust, an open air laser projection onto a 45m large radio telescope, two beam shows from LOBO’s software contract and of course the MODULA-5 laser controller, widely considered to be the successor of ADAT-based systems.
Some interesting news also made the rounds at the event. For the first time in its history, the ILDA meeting will be staged in Germany. LOBO and Medialas were awarded the role as hosts of the ILDA 2000 in Stuttgart. LOBOs CEO Bopp: “Many people might not be aware of the fact that the heart of the show laser industry isn’t beating in the US or in England, but rather in Germany. Therefore, we are very happy that the ILDA will be held in Stuttgart in 2000.”
