"Laser beams from Aalen flicker across the world – Dazzling images, tremendous sounds get under one's skin"

[Translate to English:]

Beams of light in all spectral colors rise up in the dark room, only to collapse again seconds later. An electronically designed green man flashes out of the supposed chaos and congratulates the state of Baden-Württemberg on its 40th birthday. Visitors to the Reichsstadter Tage still remember the spectacle that the Lobo technicians conjured up in the night sky above the marketplace in Aalen. In the meantime, the state has also recognized the always amazing possibilities of laser shows and such sophisticated product presentations. For this, it has awarded the young entrepreneur from Aalen, Lothar Bopp, with the Dr. Rudolf Eberle Prize.

In just a few decades, the state in the southwest of the republic has developed into the top state for German high technology. In the future, its demand should be developed more strongly than ever in a joint initiative of economic policy, in the dialog of companies, chambers, trade associations, science and trade unions. This was emphasized by State Secretary Rainer Brechtken, representing Minister of Economics Dieter Spöri, at the award ceremony in Stuttgart's "Haus der Wirtschaft".

In order to accelerate the translation of research results into new, marketable products and processes, Brechtken called for increased cooperation between universities and small and medium-sized enterprises. He said that universities have enormous potential in the area of research, which needs to be exploited much more strongly and quickly.

The State Secretary in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs praised the inventive spirit, flexibility and willingness to take risks of small and medium-sized enterprises. He said that this had been demonstrated once again by the large number of 57 proposals for the Innovation Award, which is named after the former Minister of Economic Affairs, Dr.-Rudolf-Eberle.

Lothar Bopp, a native of Aalen who grew up in Ellwangen, turned out to be a born entrepreneur early on. While his own company brought him his first orders exactly ten years ago, he completed his studies in precision engineering at the Aalen University of Applied Sciences - at the same time, so to speak. No sooner had the young graduate engineer gathered his first employees around him than he was already putting out feelers abroad. Lobo (Lothar Bopp) is justifiably proud of the fact that laser images are now coming out of his systems on every continent.

The laser entrepreneur from Aalen not only supplies permanently installed, complete multimedia systems, but also produces the "software" in-house - programs for entertainment and advertising, but also light and sound effects for TV shows and even complete electronically generated stage sets, such as those that thrilled the glittering visitors at the Bayreuth Festival in recent years.

"Advertisers have realized that it is becoming increasingly difficult to attract new audiences at trade shows and presentations with video presentations," Lothar Bopp is certain. "Laser shows, often combined with multimedia means, get an (advertising) message across far more intensively, so that together with the sound it gets under the skin."

Until such a show stands perfectly, many small things have to come together. The employees therefore keep in close contact with the customers during the various stages of production - most of them are large. international corporations.

At the beginning of even a small spot is the script. In the laboratories on Hofackerstrasse, engineers work out the technical details with the help of test setups. Only when everything is coordinated can highly qualified technicians begin with the assembly.

The "premiere" in the company's own studio is a thrilling experience every time, admits the Lobo employee at the control desk. There the work team stands together with the customers in pitch-dark hall on the "command bridge" and lets itself be charmed for the first time by the again developed work, a mixture from text and music, pictures, light flashes and smoky wabernd en sloping levels. Days later, the masses of spectators somewhere on our planet can be thrilled by the product from Aalen - in Berlin or Buenos Aires, in Moscow or Madrid.
