"Der Schein trügt, fasziniert und begeistert. Oder wie man mit Laser traumhafte Multimedia-Shows produziert."

Under the name Laser Truck, the entire equipment for a multimedia show, already installed in two containers and thus “ready for use”, can be rented from the company LOBO electronic from Aalen to stage multivisual shows at open-air events, fairs, exhibitions and presentations.
The two 16 ton standard containers are fully cabled and are ready to start a show one hour after arriving at the respective destination, regardless of weather conditions. Thanks to built-in windows, projections directly out of the container are possible. The system includes four high-performance lasers, two LACON-3 plus animation computers with transputer technology, four RGB color mixing units to reproduce 16 million (!) colors, four graphic scanning units as well as a heat exchange system to make the unit autonomous from water supply for the duration of the show at least. The laser equipment is complemented by a sound system with a power of 30,000 Watts and a motorized truss system with screen dimensions of 14 x 11 m. As even larger projection surfaces for slides, video or lasers are quite difficult to install on site, the Laser Truck offers an alternative: The “Outdoor Water Screen” – front and rear projections of up to 30 x 15 m are easily possible onto a thinly falling water film. The control room also contains all necessary telecommunication equipment. For the energy supply of the Laser Truck, 250 kW of electricity are required.
Great challenges for technicians
The equipment of the two containers posed great challenges for the LOBO technicians. The frame was dimensioned in such a way that the rigidity of the case bridge was increased and thus counteracts warping when parked on uneven surfaces
The frame has to accommodate two optical benches with the RGB unit installed and two lasers with two small power supply units in such a way that they are not damaged or even destroyed during transportation by truck. In addition, the necessary precautions against uncontrolled movements of the system in case of an accident had to be taken. A very important aspect in all deliberations was the available space. In order to optimally use the space, the LOBO technicians planned the lasers above each other.
It had to be taken into account that the steel outlet had to be as high as possible due to the projection height, but that sufficient working space was also required to adjust the RGB unit.
Successfully in use all over Europe:
By now, the Laser Truck, presented for the first time in early June 1991 at the trade fair Show Tech in Berlin, has successfully mastered a multitude of large multimedia deployments.
This includes famous events such as the official cultural contribution of the Federal Republic of Germany at the Summer Olympics 1992 in Barcelona, the Baden Wurttemberg Show at the 40th anniversary of the state, the multimedia show with fireworks “Istanbul 2000 – Olympic Games” on the Bosporus, the Water Screen spectacle at the media days in Munich and the laser show “Fulda Mobil” at the 1250th anniversary of the city of Fulda, just to name a few.
