WITH SCIENCE DOME, OBSERVATORY AND EXPERIMENTAL THEATER, THE EXPERIENCE WORLDS OFFER NEW PERSPECTIVES.
The Science Dome, a globally unique combination of planetarium and theater, invites you to lean back and marvel. At its core is a moveable auditorium, revolving by 180 degrees. Above, a domed screen with a size of 700 square meters arches, making spectators feel as if they were in the center of the action. With a high resolution projection system and state-of-the-art lighting and audio equipment, visitors can travel through virtual space or experience spectacular laser and experimental shows in the Science Dome. With wind and fog machines as well as an impressive water curtain, the elements can be felt up close.
Be it the scorching surface of the sun, undiscovered planets or faraway galaxies: The observatory with Germany’s first all-sky dome, which is fully accessible, offers a fascinating observation program, also featuring four high-performance telescopes on the rooftop terrace. With them, astronomy fans can also take pictures of space. Furthermore, the observatory also offers astronomy workshops in cooperation with astronomers from the Robert Meyer Observatory Heilbronn.
And in the experimental theater, children up to the age of ten learn about scientific phenomena in specially developed show and hands-on formats in an age-appropriate and entertaining way.
