“LOBO electronic” left more than 100 applicants in its dust
Aalen/Stuttgart (mam). On Monday, the innovation award of the state of Baden Wurrtemberg was one by a company from Aalen for the first time: “LOBO electronic”, based in Hofackerstraße.
Along with representatives from four other companies, managing director Lothar Bopp received the Dr. Rudolf Eberle Award, named after the state’s former Minister of Economy and worth a total of EM 100,000, on Monday in the Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart. On behalf of Minister of Economy Dr. Dieter Spöri, Dr. Gisela Meister, President of the State Trade Office, presented the trophies.
Annually, the trophies are awarded to three to seven companies for exemplary achievements in the development of new products and processes as well as the application of new technologies. It consists of money, a medal and a certificate. The annual turnover of the company may not exceed DM 200 million, as the award is tailored to SMEs.
LOBO electronic GmbH from Aalen received the award for the development of a transputer-controlled laser system. In her eulogy, Dr. Gisela Meister highlighted the special features of the new development: Calculation of 3D laser animations in real time, gigantic computing power by using transputers, internally developed red-green-blue color mixing unit, with which 16 million color shades can be created.
LOBO’s great entrepreneurial achievement was highlighted by the company establishing itself as one of the global market leaders, the president said. Internationally, LOBO laser systems are used in multivision shows at fairs, product presentations or in the arts, primarily in the advertisement sector.
“We are certainly proud of the award,” Lothar Bopp told SchwäPo. “When considering that about 100 companies had submitted an application, it means that you have something to offer.”
