With an impressive event, the Marketing Club Ostwürttemberg, only recently founded a few weeks ago, started its series of lectures. On the premises of the Aalen-based company Lobo Lasertechnik, director Manfred Junkert welcomed about 150 guests. “The marketing club already has 89 members. That fact as well as events like this one demonstrate that the region has placed a renewed emphasis on marketing,” Junkert said. Lothar Bopp, head of Lobo electronic GmbH, was able to give the guests an introduction to the world of laser technology. Be it at the Asian Games in Dubai, at the National Holiday in Ankara, or at product presentations of renowned companies such as Microsoft, BMW or Mercedes-Benz – with its technology, the company Lobo is present and puts clients into a state of awe. According to Lothar Bopp, this hasn’t always been the case. Starting out purely as a hardware manufacturer, Lobo has developed into an event company. Renowned analysts have named Lobo as a global technological market leader.
In the course of the evening, about 150 guests were able to form their own impression at three different stops and in the company’s own show room. Here, Bopp presented the Millenium show titled “Chronology”, which had also been shown at New Year’s Eve in Berlin and - fitting to the turn of the millennium - shows the development of humanity with laser animations and self-composed music. 18 years ago, when Lothar Bopp founded the company Lobo, such a show would have been completely unthinkable. Today, laser beams are a staple of every renowned discotheque – even in multiple colors, thanks to Lobo technology.
In 1992, Bopp and his team developed an RGB (red-green-blue) color mixing unit, making it possible to generate 16 million colors with laser beams. The innovation award of the state Baden Wurttemberg was the logical consequence, and awards have been a regular occurrence for Lobo ever since. Lobo has even received multiple awards from the industry association ILDA (International Laser Display Association), headquartered in the USA. The laser playing unit was awarded as “Product of the Year 1999” in the USA.
