"Dreams of Light" / "Lase-Off in Lincoln"

In November, the sleepy American town of Lincoln in central Nebraska became a Mecca of one of the most progressive branches of event technology. The International Laser Display Association (ILDA for short) - the international umbrella association of the most important companies in the show laser industry - had invited its 140 members to the annual conference. For four days, they had the opportunity to discuss news, standards and strategies. As always, the highlight was the glamorous award ceremony for the coveted ILDA Awards, considered by insiders to be the ‘Oscars’ of the show laser industry. While 65 % of the organization’s members are American, a surprising amount of the awards went to Europe. Seven trophies alone were won by the manufacturer and service provider Lobo electronic from Aalen. They were accepted by Lobo’s Art Director, who saw the respectable result as a confirmation of the broad range of Lobo products and applications and of the company’s direction. In addition to awards for conventional applications of show laser systems, Lobo also won trophies for a didactic multimedia presentation of DASA, for the laser cartoon of a Korean client and for the photo series “Laser Phantasies” in collaboration with the photographer Peter Schönamsgruber from Stuttgart. In addition, the engineering achievements behind the development of „Digital Data Link“, a system connecting the individual components of a laser system only with a thin fiber optic cable, also won an award.
