[Translate to English:]

A laser beam... obviously, a futuristic superweapon from science fictions movies such as „Star Wars“: Light from canons or pistols, making enemy space stations explode with its enormous destructive power – far from the truth!

The only thing a laser beam has to do with space: It can be used to measure the distance from the earth to the moon exactly to the centimeter, thanks to a mirror erected by the “Apollo” astronauts. In order to hit the mirror, the beam has to be highly focused.
Light is formed by visible electromagnetic waves. Normally, these waves are in complete disorder, comparable to the choppy waters of an overfilled outdoor pool. With electrical power and noble gases, this disorder can be brought under control. The waves now swing in parallel and can be focused into a beam that does not scatter: The secret of lasers.

“Laser” means absolute precision, a quirk of the modern world turned to account by “LOBO electronic” (recently, the company from Aalen was awarded the Innovation Award of Baden Wurttemberg). Advertisers are the most nitpicky of all perfectionists. They have to sell products and often, a lot depends on their success. Generally, only the best is good enough for them – and the best currently available in advertising are “LOBO” laser animations.

The client list sounds like a who-is-who of the world economy, from Alfa Romeo to Zeiss. For the presentation of their products at fairs, companies rely on the agile laser beam, which can display images three-dimensionally, transparently, revolving, and in about 16 million color shades. This is made possible thanks to the enormous computing power of “transputers” (networked computers) with up to 80 million mathematical operations per second and a red-green-blue color mixing unit with 256 brightness levels for each base color, developed in-house.  The trophy was awarded for this enormous technical achievement. As the pictures on this page show, the “high tech” results are not only interesting, but simply beautiful.
